Infinite Monkey Theorem

My essay on retail poetry, typewriters, Dose Market, John Ruskin, Before Sunrise and Walter Benjamin–called “Poems While You Wait: The Work of Poetry in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction”–is up on the Poetry Foundation website. You can read the whole thing and see the accompanying illustration of four adorable cartoon monkeys typing here.

Loved the story Kathleen..every one wants a poem written for them by a lover, a friend, a child, a professional or an amateur. You are spot on about commerce being the fuel poetry needs to grow again. Thank you!
