…took place from Friday, September 27 through Saturday, September 28 in Champaign & Urbana, IL, and it was wonderful and packed with excellent audiences:
Caleb Curtiss, pictured here, introducing the first reader at the Cafeteria & Co kick-off reading…
…and Jodee Stanley, pictured here doing the same, organized the whole thing, and they did a stellar job:
Caleb introduced Lania Knight who read from a new short story set in China…
….followed by Chad Simpson who read from a novel-in-progress that he’s co-writing with his wife, Jane Carlson…
…followed by me reading from Robinson Alone, pictured here, showing the audience my more than passing resemblance to Weldon Kees when appropriately mustached…
And if that weren’t enough, there were also readings by Kyle Minor, Roxane Gay, Matt Bell, Dan Chaon, Amelia Gray and many more, not to mention a book fair full of independent literature from publishers like PANK and Hobart and Ninth Letter and Rose Metal Press:
Thanks to Caleb and Jodee for putting it all together and making it look easy (though it probably wasn’t) to get so many great writers and presses all in one place at one time in front of excellent audiences.
