Actually, though, my proximity to palm trees for the past few days is because I was teaching in the Sanibel Island Writers Conference, which was wonderful. Here are some notes from the poetry workshop where we talked about moves and rules in poetry and how constraints can actually lead to a weird kind of freedom…
