…is an annual gathering of readers and authors from all over the country for one whirlwind weekend of readings, talks, conversations, panels and hanging out all centered in and around the packed and palatial Northshire Books…
…in the adorable and mysterious Manchester Center, Vermont:
My spouse, Martin Seay, got to participate last year when his debut novel The Mirror Thief came out from Melville House, and this year, I got to participate in support of my second novel, Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk, doing a reading and Q&A for such super-readers as these….
…& these in a church on Friday…
…in a Q&A led by the illustrious Russell Gray of Ink and Paper on Saturday morning…
…in the Main Event on Saturday night, when my fellow authors Lauren Grodstein, Lisa Ko, Peter Heller, Victor Lodato, Jason Rekulak, Jessica Shattuck, Jim Shepard, Will Schwalbe & I got to present for all the attendees and the public. Huge thanks to all the Booktopians for having me and for creating such an engaged and engaging community and welcoming atmosphere. Gratitude, too, to my fellow authors for teaching me so much with their readings and talks. And an extra-huge thank you to all the booksellers at Northshire, especially Tracy Davies for making such a magical weekend unfold so beautifully:
Booktopia really is every bit as heavenly as its name suggests, and it was an honor and a delight to get to be a part of it.
