“So many palm trees for you this year…”

“…do you keep winning The Price Is Right, or something?” is what a friend asked when I posted this picture:

Actually, though, my proximity to palm trees for the past few days is because I was teaching in the Sanibel Island Writers Conference, which was wonderful. Here are some notes from the poetry workshop where we talked about moves and rules in poetry and how constraints can actually lead to a weird kind of freedom… 005

Major thanks to Tom for inviting me and to the generous Lori Cornelius for rides to and from the airport among many other hospitable gestures, and to all the students and participants for making the conference so much fun, and for helping me realize that winning a game show probably could not be any better than this was.
